Diamond clarity is one of the most important aspects which determines the quality and price of a Diamond. It is amongst the 4C’s of Diamonds, which are Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carats.
So, what is Diamond clarity?
Diamond Clarity refers to the absence of inclusions and blemishes in the Diamond. It is further classified into 11 grading categories.

The explanation to the above chart is as follows: –
Flawless (FL): No internal impurities or blemishes. It is the purest clarity in the Diamond Clarity Chart and is amongst the most expensive once.
Internally Flawless (IF): No internal impurities, they only have minor blemishes on the outer surface.
Very Very Slightly Included (VVS1 & VVS2): These diamonds have very small inclusions like a pin-point dot, that even a skilled Diamond Grader can have difficulty to find it under 10x Magnification. These impurities are negligible and do not interfere with the sparkle and shine of the Diamond at all.
Very Slightly Included: These diamonds have small inclusions which can be spotted under 7x magnification.
Slightly Included: These are easily visible under 7x magnification, and the location of the impurities matters.
Included: These inclusions are easily visible and can be noticed with the naked eye. It affects the sparkle of the diamond.
